Away is the lyrically told story of a woman who searches for the lost daughter she thought was killed by the Nazis. She decides that the best way to return to Eastern Europe from New York City is to journey up through Alaska and to cross to Russia via the island chain. A tough and sometimes brutal tale that is well worth the read.
